The Raspberry Pi High Quality (HQ) Camera is a professional-grade camera module designed for applications that demand exceptional image quality, flexibility, and optical precision. Developed by Raspberry Pi, this camera is a major upgrade over the Camera Module v2, offering higher resolution, improved low-light performance, and interchangeable lenses.
At the heart of the HQ Camera is the Sony IMX477R stacked, back-illuminated 12.3-megapixel sensor, featuring larger 1.55 µm × 1.55 µm pixels and a 7.9 mm diagonal sensor size. This results in sharper images, better dynamic range, and up to 50% improved light sensitivity, making it ideal for both industrial and consumer-grade imaging systems.
The camera comes with a precision-milled aluminium C/CS lens mount, an integrated 1/4”-20 tripod mount, and a focus adjustment ring, allowing seamless integration with tripods, enclosures, and custom rigs. A C-to-CS mount adapter, FPC ribbon cable, dust caps, and a mini screwdriver are included for quick setup and fine tuning.
Designed for flexibility, the HQ Camera supports interchangeable lenses, including the popular 6mm wide-angle lens and 16mm telephoto lens (sold separately). This makes it suitable for a wide range of use cases such as CCTV and security systems, machine vision, industrial inspection, photography projects, and advanced Raspberry Pi imaging applications.

6mm Wide Lens (3MP) Ideal for wide-area coverage with a large field of view, making it perfect for CCTV and surveillance applications.
16mm Telephoto Lens (up to 10MP) Designed for capturing distant subjects with enhanced zoom and clarity, suitable for inspection, monitoring, and long-range imaging.
Both lenses screw directly onto the HQ Camera using the included C/CS mount adapter, with manual focus and aperture control via the lens thumb screw.
